For Three Quarters Of A Century, Strawberry Festival Has Delighted Residents

May 5, 2012 by Special To The ...

Cheshire’s popular First Congregational Church annual Strawberry Festival will be held for the 75th time this year. The event will take place on Saturday, June 9 , from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the Church Green in the center of town (Route 10).
In addition to hundreds of pounds of fresh strawberry shortcake and other food, this year’s festival will feature free performances by musical groups, including the Cheshire Community Band and Bird-N-Boys. There will also be
children’s entertainment, a petting zoo, and inflatable rides such as Moonbounce.
This year, the church has invited many local crafters and artisans to join them.
Parking is available in the parking lot located behind the church (access from Cornwall Avenue), with an overflow behind Town Hall across the street.
If there is rain, the event will move inside to the church’s Parish Hall.
For more information, please call the church office at (203) 272-5323.
