CHS Boys' Volleyball Extends Win Streak

Cheshire High School boys' volleyball (3-0) won their 25th match in a row 3-0 over Amity (1-4) on Friday. Game scores were 25-16, 25-9, 25-9. Senior Nate Howard had 15 kills. Senior Ryan Cuppernull added 10 kills. Junior Evan Colechia (three aces, six kills) joined them with two digs. Senior setter Ray Brumleve distributed 37 assists, striking five aces.
Cheshire visits Maloney (1-3) on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Boys' Tennis (3-1)
At home, Cheshire knocked off William Hall (2-2) 6-1. Junior Bryan Adams won 6-0, 6-4 at number one. Sophomore Jeremy Reichentahl (6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-2) also joined seniors Drew Henderson (6-0, 6-4) and Tanner Barros (6-1, 4-6, 6-2) as singles winners. Senior Brad Mahar/junior Casey Barry (6-1, 6-3) and senior Jeff Lee/sophomore Nick Anthony (6-3, 6-0) swept doubles.
The Rams visit Lyman Hall on Monday at 10:30 a.m.

Softball (3-2)
Cheshire lost their second straight game 5-1 at North Haven (3-2). Junior Kathryn Vitale (walk, single) scored on a seventh-inning double by freshman Casey Harding. Junior Nicole D'Amato (nine strikeouts) surrendered four hits.
The Lady Rams host Lyman Hall in Monday's Housatonic Division opener at 3:45 p.m.
Baseball (2-3)
Branford (4-1) earned a 6-1 road win at CHS. Branford took a 3-0 lead by the fourth inning, adding three runs in the seventh. Senior catcher Tim Budd had his first three varsity hits, doubling home classmate Vic Lyall (single) during the bottom half of the seventh inning.
In six innings, senior Jordan Kubilus (four walks) gave up seven hits and struck out five. Juniors Connor Slade and Zach Goul pitched in the seventh.
Cheshire visits Shelton (4-1) on Monday at 4 p.m.
