It's Easter weekend, and many residents will be spending time with family and friends over the holiday. Outside of religious services, there are some free events and fundraisers happening in Cheshire this weekend:

*Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7
*10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
*Easter Flower Sale

The Cheshire Lions Club is holding their annual Easter Flower Sale today and tomorrow at the CVS located at 581 Highland Ave. A wide variety of tulips, daffodils, lilies, hyacinths, azaleas, and other spring flowers will be offered. The Lion women are putting together an even grater assortment of centerpiece arrangements for your holiday table, or just to enjoy.
Sales from this fundraiser benefit local Cheshire charities, such as Cheshire Youth Baseball, Boy Scout Troop #55 and Cheshire Public Library.

*Saturday, April 7
*10:15 a.m.
*Egg Drop at Cheshire High School

A helicopter will fly over the CHS football field and drop 5,000 colorful eggs! When combined with another 5,000 Easter eggs already on the field, there will be 10,000 eggs filled with goodies. Prizes include: food from Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, Bagelicous, Gift Certificates to Roller Magic, Books from The Alphabet Garden, Ice Cream from Dairy Queen, Sweet Claudes, Peachy Keen, surprises from Sundae Spa, and even a Nintendo DSI! The event is FREE for the public!

*9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
*Clothing Drive

The CHS Class of 2012 All Night Graduation Party Committee is coordinating a clothing drive fundraiser Saturday, April 7th 9:00am to 12:00pm in the Cheshire High School front parking lot. Please donate the following items in trash bags: Clean wearable clothing (all seasons) for Men, Women, and Children. (No tears or stains), shoes (paired, please), purses, belts, hats, scarves, sheets, blankets, tablecloths, and towels.

*12 p.m.
*Easter Egg Hunt

The 62nd Annual Cheshire Town Easter Egg Hunt at Cheshire Park on Highland Avenue. All children ages 2 through 12 are invited to participate. This event is run each year by the Cheshire Lions Club in cooperation with the Cheshire Parks and Recreation department.
The Hunt was originally scheduled for last weekend, but weather concerns prompted the move to this weekend.
