Big Game Tips Off Tonight At Cheshire High School

December 5, 2011 by John Rook

A group of semi-professional basketball players promise to have their hands full tonight, as the team squares up against the Cheshire Rockin' Rams, a squad made up of Cheshire School District faculty and staff.
Administrators and educators from CHS, Dodd, Chapman, Highland, and Doolittle schools will take on the Harlem Wizards tonight beginning at 7 p.m. at Cheshire High School (525 South Main Street) in a game that promises plenty of dunks, tricks, and laughs. The Wizards are made up of former professional and college basketball players who tour the region playing local teams, usually consisting of teachers. The Wizard players not only show off their basketball skills during the game, they also treat audiences to a show reminiscent of the famed Harlem Globetrotters, complete with numerous tricks and specialty dunks. Of course, the highlight of the night is watching Cheshire's own go up against these highly talented players.
Tickets are $12 for those 18 years of age and older, and $14 for those under 18. All proceeds go towards benefitting the different PTA/PTO groups of the participating schools.
