Body Of Local Developer Found In Housatonic River

December 4, 2011 by John Rook

Officials announced this afternoon that the body of former long-time Chesire resident and local developer Richard Fiske was found in the Housatonic River, days after he was reported missing following an apparent boating accident.
Fiske, 75, had been missing since last Monday when his rowing shell was found capsized in the Housatonic River. According to reports, Fiske had checked the rowing boat out from the New Haven Rowing Club that morning.
For days, boats, divers, and helicopters hd been dispatched to look for Fiske. After he was not found a day after first being reported missing, officials stated that they had moved from a rescue mission to one of recovery.
Fiske's body was reportedly found by a boater who saw something in the river and immediately called police.
