Update From Town Hall: More Than 85 Percent Of Town Has Power

November 4, 2011 by John Rook

The Town of Cheshire has announced on its website that, according to Connecticut Light and Power, 86 percent of customers have had their power restored in town. The estimated time for complete restoration remains Sunday evening, before 11:59 p.m., according to CL&P's website.
Also, the Town has announced that it will make known its plan for collecting and disposing of debris within the next week. A course of action will have to be approved by the Cheshire Town Council before any official announcement can be made.
Cheshire High School, along with all the public schools, reopened for class today after a 90-minute delay this morning, however the Town is still basing its emergency shelter out of that facility, and will continue to do so until tomorrow morning. Dinners are no longer being served, but ready-made meals are being distributed.
All Town buildings are now open and operational.
