CJF Waits For SYFC Playoffs!

November 1, 2011 by Greg Lederer

Cheshire Junior Football expected to start the Shoreline Youth Football Conference playoffs last Sunday, but the impact of the winter storm postponed them.
"We were going to move games to Municipal Stadium (Waterbury), but it was too dangerous for people traveling from around the state," explained CJF President Rob Oris. "We still would like to play games there this weekend. We think it would be fun for the kids."
Oris hopes to pick games on Sunday, but adds that the schedule is subject to change once power is restored on a larger scale. Preliminary information is below:
Fourth grade (6-2)
vs. Madison (6-2) 11 a.m.
Eighth grade (5-2)
vs. Tri-Town (4-3) 1 p.m.
Sixth grade 'A' (7-1)
vs. Old Saybrook/Westbrook (5-3) 3 p.m.
Seventh grade (4-4)
@North Haven (7-1) 4:30 p.m.
Sixth grade 'B' (5-3)
@East Haven (6-2) 11 a.m.
Fifth grade (3-5)
@Wallingford (7-1) 3 p.m.
