Nintey-One Percent Of Cheshire Still Without Power, Cheshire Herald Office Closed For Monday

October 31, 2011 by John Rook

As of 7 a.m. this morning, Connecticut Light and Power was still reporting that 91 percent of Cheshire, or more than 10,000 of the approximatly 11,000 CL&P customers in the town, were still without power.
That includes The Cheshire Herald.
Due to the power outage, the Herald office will be closed today, Oct. 31. We will update this website as to our status, or if there is any change to our publication date this week.
As for restoration for all citizens in Cheshire, the cleanup continues. Gov. Dannel Malloy and representatives from CL&P continued to warn that many areas of Connecticut could be without power for up to or over a week. There is no timetable as to when Cheshire could be up and running again.
