A Preview Of This Week's Cheshire Herald

October 20, 2011 by John Rook

If you haven't picked up your edition of The Cheshire Herald today, here is what you're missing:

*The trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky came to an end last week, with the jury delivering a guilty verdict on all 17 counts against him. Find out what happened and what is expected as the proceedings now move into the penalty phase.

*If you've noticed that work on West Main Street has been moving along at a slow pace, you're not alone. Find out why construction in that area isn't expected to end any time soon.

*Residents around town have come to rely on Scooples Ice Cream for their favorite dessert fix. Now, it appears the ice cream shop will be closing its doors. Find out why, and what is planned for the future of Scooples.

*Included in the paper is also a story on how a new set of traffic lines are helping slow down motorists in a certain part of town, a preview of the Cheshire Food Drive, and what new program the Cheshire Police Department hopes will take off in the near future. Also, don't forget to check out our letters to the editor, along with our editorial, where we talk about the need for candidates to be specific when they discuss their desire for the Town to spend more, and the Editor's Notebook, where we look out how many U.S. military bases there are around the world, and whether there are too many.
