October 13, 2011 by John Rook

If you haven't picked up a copy of The Cheshire Herald yet today, here is what you're missing:

*Find out why, even though the finishing touches are being put on the artificial turf field this week, events that were scheduled to take place on the new surface have been moved.

*The long-awaited renovations to the Cheshire Public Library are about to start up, find out what it will look like when it's done.

*Prosecutors and the defense team of Joshua Komisarjevsky delivered their closing arguments earlier this week, and learn what shocking details were revealed about Komisarjevsky's accomplice, Steven Hayes.

*Also, don't miss stories on a local man throwing his hat into the ring for the U.S. 5th District seat, a new medical facility opening in town, and be sure to check out our weekly editorial, which looks at the controversy surrounding DEEP head, and local resident, Dan Esty, along with our Editor's Notebook, which discusses the "Occupy Wall Street" movement.

(Note: In our Schools section, the Halloween Haunted Hayride is noted as scheduled for this weekend, Oct. 15 and 16. The correct dates should be Oct. 14 and 15.)
