The Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved local developer Paul Bowman's plan to build stores and condominiums in the heart of Cheshire.
On Monday night, the Commission approved the application. The development plan includes renovating the old Keeler house, located at 166 S. Main St., and rebuilding the Keeler stove shop, which had sat next door. The stove shop was damaged beyond repair because of the harsh winter, and had to be torn down. The development, referred to as Old Towne Commons, will also include residential living and office space.
"As a kid, I remember going into Town center with my grandmother," Commission Chairman Sean Strollo explained. "I think this project could bring a little bit of that back."
