If you're wondering what to do this weekend, there are a couple of local events you might want to check out.

Saturday, September 10
Cheshire Fall Festival
Bartlem park
10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Cheshire Chamber of Commerce will once again hold its annual Fall Festival, one of the anticipated events in town each year. As usual, there will be music, food, vendor and craft booths to browse, and a fireworks display to end the night. This is a great even for all members of the family, and don't forget to pick up the Sept. 8 edition of The Cheshire Herald to get a map and schedule of events.

Saturday, September 10
Kacey's Sunflowers
Geremia Farms
Barnes Road, Wallingford
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Kacey Rose Foundation was founded by a local family after Kacey Rose Mitchell succumb to the effects of cancer. This is the second year in which the Foundation has sponsored its "Sunflowers" event. There will be face painting, a balloon artist, and refreshments and snacks for the entire family. All proceeds will go towards providing help to families affected by childhood cancer.

Sunday, September 11
Benefit for Joshua Budd
Prospect VFW
12 to 6 p.m.

This event is to benefit local resident Joshua Budd, a soldier who was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan. There will be many auction items, including Yankee/Red Sox tickets and numerous UConn football items, and door prizes for those who attend. All funds raised will go towards helping the Budd family pay for the medical costs associated with his wounds.

Sunday, September 11
9/11 Memorial Service
The Green in front of First Congregational Church
1:30 p.m.

This ceremony will be in honor of the 10th anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001. There will be speakers, music, and prayer. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Cheshire High School
