While some areas of Connecticut remain in the dark, Cheshire appears to be powered up once again in the wake of Hurricane Irene. According to Connecticut Light and Power's website Wednesday morning, only one percent of Cheshire residents were still without power.
On Tuesday evening, representatives from CL&P stated that their goal was to have 99 percent of homes in the state back online by Saturday, with 100 percent power restored by next Wednesday. The hardest area hit during the storm was the Connecticut shore, where the majority of residents remain without power.
