While the Cheshire High School Graduation, slated for tomorrow evening, might be considered the main event of the week in the school district, today students at Norton, Doolittle, Chapman, and Highland schools will all celebrate their own special day.
Throughout the course of this morning and early afternoon, sixth-grade students at all four schools will participate in the annual promotion ceremonies, marking the end of their elementary career and the beginning of their time at Dodd Middle School next year.
The ceremonies are staggered throughout the day, with each school presenting its own version of the celebration. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Greg Florio, along with some members of the Board of Education, attend each one, and the principals of the respective schools offer remembrances of the class along with their best wishes.
Awards are also handed out to deserving students and friends and family look on.
The times for the promotion ceremonies are as follows:
Chapman - 8:30 a.m.
Norton - 9:45 a.m.
Doolittle - 11 a.m.
Highland - 1:15 p.m.
As a reminder, Dodd Middle School will celebrate its promotion ceremony tomorrow morning beginning at 9:45 a.m. and Cheshire High School will hold its graduation ceremony beginning at 6 p.m.
