Summer is (unofficially) here and that means Cheshire's Youth Theatre is gearing up for another production. Below is CYT's press release announcing that tickets are on sale for its upcoming play:
*Tickets for the Cheshire Performing and Fine Arts Committee (CPFA) and Cheshire Parks and Recreation’s 2011 presentation of Willy Wonka are now on sale.
Willy Wonka marks Cheshire Youth Theatre’s 15th summer performance, and what better way to celebrate than by putting on Roald Dahl’s beloved tale? The show follows the story of young Charlie Bucket and four other quirky, spunky children as they discover golden tickets in their Wonka candy bars and get to tour Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. Featuring such memorable songs as “Pure Imagination” and “The Candyman,” Willy Wonka is a must-see for audiences of all ages.
Willy Wonka will be performed at Cheshire High School’s Thorp Auditorium on Thursday, July 14, Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance for adults ($15 at the door), $8 in advance for students and seniors ($10 at the door), and $5 for children under 5.
Tickets may be purchased at Cheshire Parks and Recreation, 550 South Main Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and at Artsplace, 1220 Waterbury Road, during its business hours. It is best to call Artsplace at (203) 272-ARTS(2787) first before traveling to purchase tickets as they are between sessions and hours may vary.*
