Residents Reminded To Clear Sidewalks

December 27, 2010 by Special To The ...

Acting Chief Joe Popovich would like to remind all residents that a parking ban for all Cheshire streets will be in effect while street clearing operations are in progress. This ban will remain in effect after the storm has concluded. Also, as a reminder, the Cheshire Police Department does not have to initiate a parking ban for each storm for this ordinance to be in effect.
Residents are also reminded that, per Town ordinance 10-4, sidewalks must be cleared of snow and ice, and no person shall throw, place, or cause to be thrown any ice or snow into the traveled portion of any street or highway within the Town of Cheshire. Failure to comply with any of these town ordinances can result in both a fine and billing for eventual clean up.
Residents with questions concerning any parking ban or sidewalk issues can call the department at (203) 271
