September 1, 2010 by Greg Lederer

The Cheshire High School girls’ swim and dive program was recognized again in the 2009-10 National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association National Dual Meet Team Rankings. Cheshire placed fifth overall (5,475 points) within the Class 7 girls’ public division (1,401-1,900 enrollment). Upper Arlington (Columbus, Ohio) took the top spot with 6,076 points.
“I wanted to do better,” said Cheshire Head Coach Ed Aston. “There are some talented teams.”
High School/prep school coaches from around the country submitted 327 meet lineups. NISCA uses a time scale to award points. There were a combined 22 classes this year.
Cheshire holds the national record for consecutive dual-meet victories (265). They visit Joseph Foran for the 2010 opener on Sept. 14, at 4 p.m.
