Correa Frustrates La Salle Women's Soccer Team In First Collegiate Win (2-1)

August 28, 2010 by Greg Lederer

Freshman goalkeeper Erica Correa, a 2010 Cheshire High School graduate, secured her first college victory for the University of New Hampshire (Durham) women’s soccer team yesterday. Correa posted five saves and senior teammate Amy Avitabile broke a 1-1 tie with 5:48 left, propelling the Wildcats to their first win over La Salle University (Philadelphia, Pa.) at the TD Banknorth Classic (University of Vermont). A 1-0-1 record is the program’s finest start in nine years.
Coached by Michael Jackson, UNH plays their other tournament game tomorrow against Rider University (Lawrenceville, New Jersey) at 11 a.m. The Wildcats compete within the American East Conference.
