Bertine Smith Johnson, 98, died on July 3, 2010 at the Scallop Shell Nursing Home in Wakefield, R.I. A memorial celebration of her life was held on July 25 at the Wakefield Baptist Church following Sunday Worship. Interment was in Quidnessett Cemetery, North Kingstown, R.I. Memorial donations may be made to The First Baptist Church, 205 Edwards St., New Haven, CT 06511 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
