Corrections Officers Injured During Altercation At Prison

Two inmates at the Manson Youth Institution in Cheshire were arrested Monday evening after allegedly assaulting a Corrections officer and injuring two more officers that tried to stop the attack.
Two men, Jordan Anderson and Reginald Holley, both 18 and both originally from Middletown, were arrested Tuesday night by state police around 6 p.m. after the Department of Corrections called for assistance regarding a disturbance. According to the state police, both men are known gang members and allegedly attacked a Corrections officer. Two other Corrections officers responded and were also injured. All three officers were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, according to the state police. Both inmates have since been transfered to another facility.
Both Anderson and Holley are charged with two counts of assaulting an officer, two counts of second degree assault, and one count of disorderly conduct, first degree assault and first degree assault of a Corrections employee. There were arraigned on March 17 in Meriden Superior Court.
Information from the state police did not indicate a motive for the attacks.
According to the DOC Web site, Anderson was being held originally for first degree robbery and Holley was originally being held for home invasion. According to the Web site, both men have yet to be sentenced.
