Lady Rams Sweep In Track And Field, Boys' Tennis Wins Second Straight

Cheshire High School girls' outdoor track and field improved to 5-0 on Tuesday, sweeping host Hamden (90-60), Hillhouse (95-54), and Wilbur Cross (79.5-69.5). Senior Selina Sampieri (pole vault; seven feet, six inches) and junior Alex Liberti (high jump; 4'10''), along with sophomores Janaia Skibitcky (triple jump; 34'0'') and Lauren Carbone (3,200-meters, 12:32.6), won individually.

CHS Girls' LAX, Softball, Boys' Volleyball And Golf Won On Monday

On Monday, Cheshire High School girls' lacrosse (4-1) posted a 6-1 win at Branford (4-1). CHS took a 4-1 advantage into halftime.
Seniors Olivia Larson and Maddy Levy (assist) had two goals each. Seniors Michelle Federico and Danielle Chambrelli added goals. Classmate Daniel Bellantonio chipped in an assist.

Baseball Continues Hot Streak, Girls' Lacrosse Pulls Away At Amity

On Saturday, Cheshire High School baseball (4-2, 2-0 in Housatonic Division) secured its fourth win in a row 7-3 at Branford (2-3). in his third win of the week, senior Ethan Lonardelli (3-1; five hits, three strikeouts, two walks) pitched six innings. Junior Adam vonFischer (strikeout) relieved him for the seventh.

CHS Teams Sweep On Thursday

On Thursday, Cheshire High School boys' lacrosse (1-3) ran off 11 straight goals in earning their first win 16-2 over Branford (1-3). CHS had a 9-1 lead at halftime.

CHS Boys' V-Ball And Tennis Teams Earn Wins, Girls' LAX And Tennis Come Up Short

Cheshire High School boys' volleyball (3-0) stayed unbeaten on Wednesday, sweeping Masuk (1-2) 3-0 by scores of 25-19, 25-10, and 25-19. Blocking was key in the victory. CHS picked up career-high totals from seniors Greg Zane (eight blocks, two kills), Ted Li (five, six), and Colin Haensel (six, four).

Cheshire High School boys' volleyball has flipped hosting matches with Shelton this season. The Rams will have home court on April 17. They will visit the Gaels on May 9. Both matches will begin at 6 p.m.

The Cheshire Rugby Club started the season on Friday. The boys' 'A' side beat Southington 72-12 at Mountain Mist Outdoor Center in Meriden. The 'B' side lost 15-5.
