Cheshire Track And Field Secures Three Gold Medals At SCC, Baseball Drops Regular Season Finale

Cheshire High School girls' outdoor track and field secured fourth place (70.5 points) in the Southern Connecticut Conference Championship at Sheehan. Junior Selina Sampieri tied her personal record (10 feet, six inches) in pole vault and in the process shattered the SCC mark of 10 feet. Sampieri also placed fourth in triple jump (33 feet, 8.75 inches).

CHS Girls' Lacrosse Comes Back To Win In OT, Boys Drop Regular Season Finale

Cheshire High School girls' lacrosse (13-3; 10-0 in Southern Connecticut Conference) erased an 11-8 deficit en route to a 13-11 overtime win against Newtown (9-7) in the regular season finale. The Nighthawks scored at the end of regulation, however, it was called off. Cheshire took their first lead (12-11) on the second goal by junior Maddy Levy.

Cheshire Rugby Club To Run Local Event On Sunday

On Sunday, the Cheshire Rugby Club is hosting a full day at Cheshire High School. Cheshire girls will compete against Berkshire, New London, Simsbury, and Southington in a 7's Tournament starting at 9 a.m.
Cheshire boys' 'B' side hosts Southington at the same start time. At 10:15 a.m., the 'A' side plays Berkshire.

Cheshire Softball Ends Regular Season Strong, Boys' V-Ball Ends Win Streak In Middletown

Cheshire High School softball ended the regular season with their fifth straight victory, winning 7-4 at Mercy (16-3). The Lady Rams had a 5-0 lead in the second inning. Mercy ended the shutout (7-1) with a run in the sixth. Senior pitcher Nicole D'Amato (eight hits, two walks) had four strikeouts.

CHS Softball To Meet Rival Amity In SCC Quarters

Cheshire High School softball (14-5; 6-2 in Housatonic Division) has the fifth seed in next week's Southern Connecticut Conference Tournament. They visit fourth-seeded Amity (14-5; 8-0) for Tuesday's quarterfinal at 4 p.m. Amity was the only Housatonic team to beat Cheshire on April 15 (7-3) and May 6 (5-3).
