CA Girls' Basketball Comes Up Short At Watkinson

Cheshire Academy girls' basketball (3-3) fell 58-38 on Wednesday at Watkinson School (4-1). Chelsea Dow netted five three-pointers among her 20 points, while Lexe Holmes scored 12 points. Anni Garvey, Abby Kandel, and Paula Kami all had two points.
On Friday, the girls face Miss Hall's School in the Stoneleigh-Burnham School Tournament. Start time is 6:30 p.m.

CHS Ice Hockey Drops Opener To Glastonbury, Thursday's Schedule Of Varsity Openers

In Wednesday's opener at Koeppel Community Center in Hartford, Cheshire High School ice hockey fell short 6-1 against host Glastonbury. CHS went up 1-0 on a goal from senior Frank Ilnicki. Classmates Kyle Frederick and Anthony Vitale assisted on the goal.

BREAKING NEWS: CHS Has Postponed Night Activities On Campus

Due to the death of a pair of 2014 graduates this week, Cheshire High School has decided to postpone all night activities on campus this evening. The decision includes postponing the boys' basketball team's opener against Branford. No make-up date has been set.

CHS Girls' Basketball Falls To Second-Half Charge, Wednesday's Varsity Schedule

On Tuesday, Cheshire High School girls' basketball (1-1) lost 50-44 at East Haven (2-1). The Yellow Jackets outscored CHS 18-5 in the fourth quarter to erase a 39-32 deficit at the end of the third. Cheshire led 32-22 at half.

Memorial For Gozzo To Run Tonight At CHS

The Cheshire community is invited to participate in a memorial for 2014 Cheshire High School graduate Isabella Gozzo tonight on the turf at Alumni Field. The event starts at 7 p.m. Gozzo died from injuries sustained in a car accident this morning on Route 9 in Berlin.
A former athlete at CHS, Gozzo was a freshman at Suffolk University in Massachusetts.

On Friday, Cheshire High School girls' basketball (1-0) kicked off the season with a 40-31 win over defending Class LL Champion Lauralton Hall (0-2). Cheshire took a 20-9 advantage at halftime.

Cheshire High School girls' basketball opens the winter season on Friday, hosting defending Class LL Champion/Southern Connecticut Conference newcomer Lauralton Hall (0-1) at 7 p.m. CHS graduated captains Missy Bailey (Franklin Pierce University-New Hampshire), Lily Dolyak, and Bryanna McIntosh after the team went 11-11 (4-4 in Housatonic Division) last season.
