American Legion Senior Baseball Drops First Game, Earns Split Of Double-Header

Cheshire American Legion baseball (12-1, 11-1 in Zone 3) took their first loss on Saturday, but they still earned a split of a double-header against Shoreline (1-6) at Cheshire High School. In the first game, Cheshire posted four runs in the first inning and tallied five more to win 9-3.

CHS Track And Field Competes Regionally On Saturday, Cheshire Boys' Rugby Falls In State Final, Ram Jam Set For Sunday

On Saturday, Cheshire High School outdoor track and field athletes participated in New England Championship at Thornton Academy (Saco, Maine). Junior Janaia Skibitcky finished 11th in the long (16 feet, 6.25 inches) and triple (35’7”) jumps, as well as the 4x100-meter relay (junior Madison Hunt, sophomore Sarah Clark, senior Olivia Palmer; 49.89).

CHS Softball Drops Thriller To Southington In Class LL Final

In Saturday's Class LL final, Cheshire High School softball (second seed, 23-3) came up short 5-4 against three-time defending champion Southington (top, 24-0) at DeLuca Field in Stratford. Cheshire scored three runs in the second inning and went up 4-0 in the fourth, but the Lady Knights tied the game 4-4 in the fifth and they scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

CHS Softball And Cheshire Boys' Rugby Competing For State Title On Saturday, CHS Track and Field Athletes Going To Regionals

On Saturday, Cheshire High School softball (second seed, program-best 23-2) seeks to win their first Class LL title against top-seeded Southington (23-0) at DeLuca Field in Stratford. Start time is 3 p.m.
The two-time defending champion, Southington carries a school-record 69-game win streak into their fourth straight title game. The Lady Knights beat Cheshire 2-1 in last year's quarterfinals.

Cheshire Soccer Club Shines In CIT At Quinnipiac Park

Last weekend, Cheshire Soccer Club enjoyed a strong showing in the Connecticut Invitational Tournament at Quinnipiac Park. Of the seven boys' age divisions, local teams placed first or second in five of them. The top two teams in division are below:

2. Meriden

1. Cheshire

In Wednesday's Class LL semifinals, Cheshire High School softball (second seed, 23-2) shut out Darien (third, 21-4) 4-0 at DeLuca Field in Stratford. CHS scored runs in the third, fourth (two), and fifth innings.

Class LL Softball Semifinals Postponed!

Due to weather, the Class LL softball semifinals have been moved to Wednesday at DeLuca Field in Stratford. Cheshire High School (second seed, 22-2) meets Darien (third, 20-2) in the second game at 7 p.m.
Southington (top, 22-0) faces South Windsor (fourth, 19-3) at 4 p.m.
Cheshire last made the semifinals in 2007, falling 4-3 to Norwich Free Academy in 10 innings.
