CHS Boy' Basketball Upsets Host Hand In SCC First Round, Ice Hockey Earns Tie On The Road

Cheshire High School boys' basketball (10th seed, 13-8) earned a 74-69 win over host Daniel Hand (seventh, 12-9) in Thursday's Southern Connecticut Conference First Round at Polson Middle School. CHS led 36-31 at halftime and held off the Tigers at the end.

CHS Girls' Basketball To Travel To Crosby For LL First Round

Cheshire High School girls' basketball (12-9) has received the 18th seed for the Class LL Tournament. They will visit Crosby (15th, 15-5) next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The victor will play the winner of host Wilton (second, 19-1) and Newington (31st, 8-12) next Friday at 7 p.m.

CHS Ice Hockey Comes Up Short Against Trojans, Boys' B-Ball To Travel For SCC First Round On Thursday

In Wednesday's final regular season home game at Wesleyan University's Freeman Athletic Center, Cheshire High School ice hockey (7-10-1) dropped their fourth straight game 3-0 to Simsbury (11-8).

Fitzpatrick Leads Mercy Basketball To First SCC Title Defense, Receives MOP Honors Again

On Wednesday, Cheshire resident Maura Fitzpatrick played a key role in Mercy basketball (top seed, 22-1) defeating Daniel Hand (third, 20-3) 57-52 for their second consecutive Southern Connecticut Conference title. Fitzpatrick, a senior co-captain, supplied 19 points, eight rebounds, and two assists, earning Most Outstanding Player just like last season.

In Tuesday's dual-meet finale, Cheshire High School boys' swim and dive (8-1) defeated host Notre Dame-West Haven (9-2) 104-80 at Wilbur Cross.

CHS Ice Hockey Falls To Host Mustangs, Varsity Slate For Tuesday

On Monday, Cheshire High School ice hockey (7-9-1) came up short 4-2 against host Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe Co-Op (13-6) at Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport. Fairfield went up 2-0 in the first period, but Cheshire cut the deficit with the first goal (power play) from junior Griffin Cunningham in the second.

In Saturday's State Open of indoor track and field at Floyd Little Athletic Center, Cheshire High School junior Janaia Skibitcky bettered her own school record (17 feet, 8.25 inches) to take second in long jump. Her previous record was 17'6.25."
