CHS Boys' Swim And Dive To Compete In SCC Action This Week

On Monday, Cheshire High School boys will swim in the Southern Connecticut Conference Qualifier at Cheshire Community Pool. Start time is 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, senior captain Ryan Nguyen will visit Hamden for the Diving final at 5 p.m. The next night, the SCC final has a 6 p.m. start time at Southern Connecticut State University.

In Saturday's Southern Connecticut Conference quarterfinals, Cheshire High School boys' basketball (ninth seed, 11-11) fell 59-45 against top-seeded Notre Dame-West Haven (21-0) at Branford.
The Rams led 15-11 at the end of the first quarter, but the Green Knights came back to go up 29-23 at halftime. Notre Dame took a 43-32 lead to the fourth quarter.

Black Makes State Open Debut On Friday, Girls' Ice Hockey Team Ends Year In SCC D-II Title Game

On Friday, Cheshire High School wrestling senior captain Sean Black (138 pounds, 13th seed) posted a 2-1 record in his State Open debut at New Haven's Floyd Little Athletic Center. Black beat Killingly junior Zach Burgess 11-8 and pinned Jonathan Law junior Alexi Giantomidis in 2:44. In the second round, he fell 9-5 to Haddam-Killingworth junior Jake Firth.

CHS Boys' Basketball Upsets Shelton In Thursday's SCC First Round, Varsity Slate For Friday

On Thursday, Cheshire High School boys' basketball (ninth seed, 11-10) posted a 57-53 victory at Shelton (eighth, 13-8) in the Southern Connecticut Conference First Round. The win was redemption after the Gaels won both meetings in the regular season.

CHS Ice Hockey Rallies To Beat Guilford On Wednesday

On Wednesday, Cheshire High School ice hockey (11-8) came back to beat host Guilford (14-5) 3-1 at East Haven Veterans Memorial Ice Rink. The game was scoreless through two periods.

College Recruiting Meeting Has Been Planned For Next Month At CHS

The Cheshire High School Booster Club is preparing for a college recruiting process meeting on Thursday, March 9, at 7 p.m. in Room 82 at CHS. Cheshire’s Rich and Jodee Heritage of Learning Connections, LLC, will discus the recruiting timeline, what questions to ask and when to raise them, and how to market/brand strengths of student-athletes.

Cheshire High School boys' basketball (10-10) has earned the ninth seed for the Southern Connecticut Conference Tournament. For Thursday's first-round game, the Rams will visit Shelton (eighth, 13-7) at 6:30 p.m.
Shelton earned tight wins over CHS on Dec. 22 (71-70, double overtime) and Feb. 13 (70-64).

Murray Places Third In Monday's State Open, Blades Win SCC D-II Semi On Ice

On Monday, Cheshire High School indoor track and field athletes competed in the State Open at New Haven's Floyd Little Athletic Center. Junior Brendan Murray earned third place in the boys' 3,200-meters (9:24.8), securing a spot in the New England Interscholastic Championship on March 4 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
