CHS Football Comes Up Short In 21st Apple Valley Classic, Ends Season At Southington

On Thanksgiving, Cheshire High School football (6-4) came up short 47-20 at Southington (10-0) in the 21st Apple Valley Classic. The Rams jumped ahead 7-0 and held a 17-13 advantage late in the second half, but Southington junior quarterback William Barmore threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to senior Anthony Plantamuro at the halftime buzzer to put Southington up 20-17.

CHS Girls Fall To Rival Southington In 19th Powder Puff Classic

On Tuesday, Cheshire High School girls came up short 34-14 against Southington in the 19th Powder Puff Classic. CHS led 7-0 and extended the lead to 14-6 in the third quarter, but the Lady Knight scored the final 28 points to pick up their sixth straight win in the series. Southington leads the series 12-6-1.

CHS Football To Visit Southington For 21st Apple Valley Classic On Thanksgiving

On Thursday, Cheshire High School football (6-3) travels to Southington (9-0) for the 21st Apple Valley Classic at 10 a.m. To remain in contention for a Class LL berth, the Rams need to win the regular-season finale.
Southington has won four straight meetings, building an 11-9 edge in the holiday series.

CHS Powder Puff To Host Southington On Tuesday

On Tuesday, Cheshire High School girls host Southington seniors in the 19th Powder Puff Classic at 6:30 p.m. Winners of five straight meetings, the Lady Knights lead the flag football series 11-6-1.
Pre-sale tickets for adults ($6) and students/senior citizens ($5) are available in the athletic offices of both schools. The cost is $8 at the game.

CA Football Caps Fall Season With Big Win In NEPSAC Wayne Sanborn Bowl

On Saturday, Cheshire Academy football (8-2) picked up their eighth straight win 45-20 over Brunswick School (7-3) in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Wayne Sanborn Bowl. The Fighting Cats led 24-7 at halftime.
In the first half, Coby Tippett had a 9-yard touchdown reception and ran for two more touchdowns (91, 52 yards).

On Saturday, Cheshire High School girls' swim and dive ended the season with a fifth-place finish (331 points) in the State Open final at Yale University's Robert J.H. Kiphuth Exhibition Pool.

Breton Earns Her Top Score In Friday's State Open Diving

Cheshire High School sophomore diver Sienna Breton made her State Open debut on Friday, finishing 16th overall (381.25) at Bulkeley. Her score was a personal-best total.
