CHS Football Scrimmages For The First Time On Wednesday

On Wednesday, Cheshire High School football played their first scrimmage against Holy Cross and Trumbull at Alumni Field. No score was kept during the day.
The event was cut short to the thunder.

CHS Sports Begin Fall Practice

Cheshire High School cross country, field hockey, soccer, girls' swim and dive, and girls' volleyball opened fall pre-season on Saturday. Practices will continue into September, leading up to opening contests.

CJF Hosted Pre-season Jamboree On Saturday

Cheshire Junior Football is preparing for the 2014 season! On Saturday, they held a pre-season jamboree at Bartlem Park. Cheshire fielded teams in fourth, fifth, sixth (two), seventh, and eighth grades. Branford, Bristol, Clinton, East Haven, Madison, Monroe, North Haven, Newtown, and Southington also brought squads. Teams played three games apiece. No records were kept.

CJF To Hold Jamboree On Saturday

Cheshire Junior Football hosts their pre-season jamboree on Saturday at Bartlem Park. No records will be kept. Grouped by grade, scrimmages start at 8:30 a.m. and continue through 4:40 p.m.
The 2014 season kicks off on Aug. 31. Cheshire competes through the Shoreline Youth Football Conference.

Rams Football Has Kicked Off Conditioning

On Monday, Cheshire High School football started conditioning for the 2014 campaign. Senior captains Cullen Clairmont, Jack Cunningham, Tyler D'Errico, Tony Marcucilli, and Andrew Yamin lead the program.
Coached by Don Drust, CHS host Holy Cross in the first scrimmage on Aug. 27 at 4 p.m.

Men's Softball Teams Sweep Regular Season, Playoff Titles

The Cheshire Men's Softball League has three new playoff champions this year. In Games threes last Friday at Cheshire Park, AJ Waste (A) and Franklin Products (B) won their division titles. AJ Waste came back from a 5-1 hole to walk off with a 6-5 win against defending champion Campania Club. Franklin Products defeated Allstate 22-9.

CHS Girls' Volleyball Tryouts Moved To Cheshire Academy

Due to ongoing work in the West Gym, Cheshire High School girls' volleyball has switched tryouts to Cheshire Academy. Sessions start this Saturday, running 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. On Aug. 25 and 26, tryouts will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Cheshire American Legion Senior Baseball Wins State Finals Opener, Moves To Within A Game Of First Title

At Stamford's Cubeta Stadium, Cheshire American Legion Senior baseball (30-10) picked up their sixth straight win 10-5 over Rocky Hill-Cromwell-Portland (RCP) in Friday's game one of the state finals. Cheshire trailed 2-1 prior to scoring six times in the fifth inning.

Cheshire American Legion Senior Baseball Secures First State Title At Cubeta Stadium

Cheshire American Legion Senior baseball (31-11) won their first state title on Saturday at Cubeta Stadium in Stamford. They lost 7-5 against Rocky Hill-Cromwell-Portland (RCP; 25-8) in the first game of the day, but came back to win 3-0 in the nightcap to capture the series 2-1.
