CHS Field Hockey Senior Class Makes History In SCC Quarter, Cross Country Races In Class LL

In Saturday's Southern Connecticut Conference quarterfinal, Cheshire High School field hockey (third seed, 13-2-1) beat Guilford (sixth, 5-9-2-1) for the third time this year. Cheshire took a 1-0 halftime lead and scored twice in the second.

CHS Football Takes First Loss To Jesuits

On Friday, Cheshire High School football (6-1) absorbed their first loss 51-28 against defending Class LL runner-up Fairfield Prep (5-2). The Jesuits held a 38-20 lead at halftime. Scoring summary:

Miller, Bronson To Participate Regionally In NFL Punt, Pass, And Kick

On Sunday, two Cheshire residents will visit Foxborough, Mass. to compete in the regional round of the NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick contest. Julia Miller (8-9) and Ethan Bronson (14-15) will have one chance at each event. Accuracy and distance are factored into final scores.
After the contest, they will attend the New England Patriots home game against the Chicago Bears at 1 p.m.

CHS Boys' Soccer Ends Season At Surf Club, Football To Host Fairfield Prep On Friday

On Thursday, Cheshire High School boys' soccer (4-11-1, 2-5 in Housatonic Division) lost the finale 4-2 against host Daniel Hand (12-0-4) at the Surf Club. In the first half, senior Zach Winch added the first goal. Junior Sid Subramani picked up the assist.
After the break, junior Jake Goldstein increased the lead to 2-0 on a pass on from classmate Tommy Conlon.

CHS Girls' Soccer, Field Hockey To Host SCC Quarters On Saturday

Cheshire High School teams host Southern Connecticut Conference quarterfinals on Saturday. Capsules are below:

Cheshire will pit a six-game win streak against Guilford (sixth, 5-8-2-1) at 10 a.m. CHS beat the Indians in the Sept. 9 opener (3-0) and Wednesday’s regular season finale (2-1).

On Tuesday, Cheshire High School cross country squads collected three victories at Wharton Brook State Park. The boys (7-0, 2-0 in Housatonic Division) placed from second through 11th overall in defeating host North Haven (20-43), Sheehan (15-50), and East Haven (15-50).

CHS Girls Sweep Varsity Action On Thursday

In Thursday's home opener, Cheshire High School girls' volleyball (10-0, 4-0 in Housatonic Division) defeated Jonathan Law (1-10) 3-1 to take the season series. Game scores: 25-12, 25-10, 22-25, 25-10. It was Cheshire's 37th straight victory.

On Friday, Cheshire High School boys' cross country placed second (52 points) in the 56th Nonnewaug Invite. Freshman Brendan Murray (second, 16:21.83), along with senior co-captains Russell Adam (third, 16:31.12) and Mark Fusco (fifth, 16:41.09), were top six finishers.

Cheshire Academy Football Wins Shoot-Out

On Saturday, Cheshire Academy football (2-0) collected a 55-35 victory at Avon Old Farms School (1-1). Quarterback Patrick Kehoe connected on 20 of 35 passes for 446 yards. Along with throwing five touchdowns, Kehoe additionally ran for a score.
