CHS Girls' Basketball Ends Streak At Amity, Turns Attention To Shelton

Cheshire High School girls’ basketball (12-5; 5-2 in Housatonic Division) closed their eight-game win streak in last night’s 56-47 loss at Amity (8-8; 3-2). The Spartans never trailed, scoring 13 of the final 15 points of the first half (33-19 lead). Amity made 18 of 27 free throws compared to two of six for CHS.

CHS Girls' Basketball Wins Eighth Straight!

CHS girls' basketball (12-4; 5-1 in Housatonic Division) defeated host Hamden (8-9) 57-52 for their eighth straight win. Cheshire won both regular season meetings. This time, the Lady Rams needed to out-score Hamden 18-13 in the fourth quarter to keep the win streak alive. Sophomore Missy Bailey had 16 points. Junior Molly Jalbert had 15.

Rams End Water Slide Against Xavier, Wrestlers Recognize Seniors!

Snapping a three-meet slide in tight fashion, Cheshire High School boys’ swim and dive (4-4) held off Xavier (4-5) at Albertus Magnus College. Senior Ray Chen led the effort with four victories. Chen claimed the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.15) and 100-yard freestyle (52.62).

Lady Rams Win Seventh Straight On Court!

Cheshire High School girls' basketball (11-4; 5-1 in Housatonic Division) earned their seventh consecutive win 53-45 last night at Lyman Hall (0-15; 0-7). Junior Lauren Como (five rebounds) supplied a personal-high 21 points, 15 after halftime. Sophomore Missy Bailey (18 points, six rebounds) and Como shared four steals and three three-pointers.

CA Football To Mark National Signing Day!

Cheshire Academy celebrated the school's first unbeaten season (9-0; 8-0 in Colonial League) in many years last fall, finishing with a 35-14 victory over Choate Rosemary Hall (7-3) in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Arthur Valicenti Bowl. The Fighting Cats were CL Champions for the first time.

Dunham Identified As One Of Nation's Top Young Players!

Cheshire Academy's Darien Dunham, a goalkeeper for the Academica Futebol Club U-15 and U-16 teams, was invited to today's United States Soccer Regional Training Center at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Dunham has also been selected to attend the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Camp to be held Feb.

Ress, IU Women's Swim and Dive Are Victorious On Birthday!

Freshman Justine Ress, a Cheshire YMCA Sea Dog swimming on her birthday, helped Indiana University (Bloomington) win the home finale 165-128 over the University of Louisville (Kentucky). Ress leads the Big-10 Conference in the 200-yard backstroke (1:54.41) and won today in a time of 2:00.57.
