On Monday, Cheshire High School boys' swimming earned third place (474 points) in the Class LL final at Wesleyan University. Juniors Ben Brewer, Dara Malone, Jack Hanke, and senior Jamie Eigner won the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:10.37). The victory allowed the Rams to finish one spot in front of Ridgefield (470.5).
Eigner, Malone, Hanke, and Brewer also finished third in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:26.83). Eigner clocked second in the 100-yard freestyle (47.67) and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (21.9), while Brewer supplied third in the 200-yard individual medley (1:55.67) and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:47.84).
Senior captain Ryan Mostoller contributed fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.92) and seventh in the 200-yard IM (1:58.88). Senior captain Will Wynne posted fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (54.61). Sophomore Joe Cannata (seventh, 1:00.46) and senior Gabriel Page (10th, 1:00.86) were also top finishers in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Wynne, senior captains Ryan Nguyen and Kevin Erickson, and Cannata garnered seventh in the 200-yard medley relay (1:41.45).
