CHS Boys' B-Ball Ends Season At Kennedy For Second Straight Season, Cheshire Skaters To Host Hand On Tuesday

On Monday, Cheshire High School boys' basketball (25th seed, 11-12) fell 54-48 at Kennedy (eighth, 18-5) in the Class LL First Round. The Rams dropped their first-round game on the same court last season.
Kennedy held a one-point edge at the end of the opening quarter (10-9) and at halftime (26-25). The Eagles opened their lead in the third quarter and earned the home win.
Senior Drew Hart paced the Rams with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks. Senior Jensen Bassett contributed six points. Senior Mike Quint supplied five points and junior Ben DeLaubell posted four. The Rams received three points from juniors Eric Angelone, James Pettit, and Brian Perrotti. Senior Derek Frione and junior Will Graikoski had two points apiece.
Bassett (tri-captain), Hart (tri-captain), Quint (tri-captain), Frione, Matt Geyda, and Evan Russo will graduate from the CHS program.
Tuesday's varsity schedule:
Ice Hockey (sixth, 11-9)
CHS hosts Daniel Hand (11th, 9-10-1) in the Division II First Round at Wesleyan University. Start time is 7 p.m.
Cheshire shut out the Tigers 3-0 on Jan. 21.
