On Thursday, Cheshire High School skiing picked up five victories at Mount Southington. CHS boys (13-8, 293.89) went 3-1 against Amity (324.11), Glastonbury (316.33), Westhill (344.75), and Ridgefield (286.77).
Senior tri-captain Jared Chase earned first place (44.89). Senior tri-captains Matt Urbano (sixth, 46.84) and Peter Brown (seventh, 46.97) also clocked top times. Junior Andrew DePalma (32nd, 49.63) and seniors Evan Byers (53rd, 52.58) and Max Tougas (59th, 52.98) also contributed in scoring spots in the meet.
Cheshire girls (7-11, 323.45) earned a 2-2 mark against Glastonbury (324.31), Westhill (357.77), Amity (316.98) and Ridgefield (301.08). Senior tri-captain Katie Tomko was the top Cheshire racer in 10th place (49.28). Senior tri-captain Rebecca Hyman placed next in 19th (51.77).
Senior Emily Bodurtha (36th, 54.44), sophomore Grace Johnson (39th, 55.03), junior Rachel Hyman (42nd, 55.46), and senior tri-captain Colleen Carroll (51st, 57.47) rounded out Cheshire's top six.
On Feb. 8, CHS closes the regular season against Darien, Fairfield Prep, Farmington, and Wilton at 4:45 p.m.

Cheshire teams travel to New Haven's Floyd Little Athletic Center for the Southern Connecticut Conference Championship at 4 p.m.
Boys' Basketball (8-7, 2-3 in Hammonasset Division)
Riding a four-game win streak, CHS hosts defending SCC Champion Fairfield Prep (8-8, 6-0) at 7 p.m. The Jesuits won 57-43 on Jan. 13.
